Porcelana; the famous heirloom cacao of Venezuela. This rare variety fruits a beautifully light pod, yielding a superior nutty flavour. Alastair and Friederike, the founders of Chocolate Tree, have yet to visit Venezuela, but they do know from their supplier Campo Lindo that the farmers are based in La Orquídea, Zulia State (Sur del Lago) and are paid a premium price ($6.40 per Kg) at the farm gate for their dried authentic Porcelana cacao.
